How we train
“I thought the key to the success was, quite simply, your facilitation and management of the event. Your tremendous experience and your feel for the mood and understanding of the exercise players allowed you to pace the exercise perfectly.”
Regional Director of Security EMEA, Pharmaceutical Company

At ARC Training we focus on creating an interactive learning environment in which the value of all inputs, not just those of the tutors, are critical to the success of the programme.
A range of instructional aids are used, with great emphasis on tutor-supported, participant-led syndicate and project work. Open courses usually have at least two trainers, each a specialist in a number of fields. On the longer courses “active practitioner” guest presenters often participate, bringing contemporary first hand and direct experiences to the learning environment.
All course leaders have many years experience in security management and are appropriately qualified. A minimum baseline standard for full-time trainers is the ASIS CPP certification, and all full-time trainers are required to have a Masters degree in security management or to be actively working towards such. And we ensure that our trainers are not only security experts, but are also competent and skilled in training delivery and in interacting in an international setting.
On longer courses much emphasis is placed on project work, in which delegates work together to formulate security designs, plans and strategies for different types of businesses. This becomes a very memorable experience in which learning is reinforced and validated.
The emphasis in training sessions is on creating an interactive environment of blended learning, based on leading edge best practice in security management. Most importantly, delegates are encouraged to share ownership of the learning process.
