How to Study for the MSc with ARC

In a unique partnership with Middlesex University the ARC Training International Academy for Security Management gives you the option to earn postgraduate academic credits for attendance on Security Management Stages 1, 2 & 3 courses at no additional charge.

Each of the above courses can offer a maximum of 30 credits, and a total of 80 credits can be carried forward into the 180-credit Middlesex University MSc Work-Based Learning Studies (Corporate Security Management) programme.

Thus, the three courses combined provide three of the six modules required for completion of the MSc. The remaining modules are undertaken by distance learning directly after enrolment to the University.

This marks a departure from the traditional distance-learning MSc, allowing you to gain professional academic credentials by blending classroom and project work, work-based assignments and fully-supported distance learning studies. This ensures that your studies reflect the leading edge in security risk management best practices and remain directly relevant to your workplace, creating a "win-win" situation for both you and your employer.

Launched in 2005, the scheme immediately drew acclaim from the wider security community. The Security Industry Authority (SIA), the government agency responsible for the private security sector in the UK , described it as "an exciting new initiative providing a clear pathway from vocational security management training to higher academic qualifications, in line with initiatives being taken by the SIA to encourage the development of an integrated qualifications strategy."

The Security Institute praised the scheme for "enhancing the profile of the security management profession and positioning security practitioners to be recognised as serious players in the corporate environment."
